Running Out of Time

Skywatch is here

I've been meaning to clean out my garden before winter so I'll have a head start on next year. But time slips through my fingers like water. So, even though it was late, I got out and attacked it till night was falling. I was running out of time. So, I loaded a wheelbarrow with potatoes and such and headed toward the house. This is what I saw.

I ran for my camera. I got these shots but some of the great colors had already faded away. Just like summer is slipping away. Just like I missed a few shots because I wasn't in time, I will probably miss a few weeds in the garden. Something is better than nothing. I sure hope I remember to bring in the potatoes in time. They're still in the wheelbarrow.

Love the little story that goes with the photos. And the photos, too. We still have apples out there, plentiful this year, and very good as well.

I see that same beautiful sky, and I really liked your comparison to the summer slipping away. A timely observance.
