Busted!

So after a great New Years Eve of fireworks and yummy food with some friends from Spain ( I am so in love with their tortilla de papas), we got to sleep very late and didn't get up till very late. The munchkins were up though, and getting into things they shouldn't. I heard Thing 1 tell his brothers, "Mommy tricked us! I found the gum, the fruit Santa gave us in her office. SANTA DIDN'T GIVE IT TO US! Mommy TRICKED us!" I told him Santa gives me the leftovers to give to them when they are being good, but he's not buying it. An unbeliever at age 5. I am such a failure.

Just keep saying it - he'll buy it - keep saying it!! It's called "brainwashing" them! Cute story. Happy New Year! See you soon. Kellan

Ha! They catch on so stinkin' fast.

In cases like this...I just stick to my story and don't budge....I act like I have no idea what they are talking about...maybe not the best course of action, but that is what I do.

Boy don't they grow up fast!

Props for coming up with that explanation, though!

I would've believed it!

Good try, though - I like the story you made up. When they want to believe, they do.

Oh I'm always afraid of that. I always have a million excuses like your ready in my head. They don't work, though?

Nothing gets by them when it comes to Santa Claus.

I'm visiting all those who have posted before and I'm inviting them over to my blog for a little giveaway that I am having. No gimicks, just a way to celebrate one year of blogging.

That really was a good cover story. A say stick to it. A good story is still a good story, even if they see through it.

My kids believe that Santa's sleigh (the Easter bunny's basket- whatever) gets too heavy if he carries all the apples and oranges and candy as well as the presents, so mom buys the food stuffs and leaves it for Santa to divy up among us.

You will all be glad to know Thing 1 finally decided to believe that Santa gave the stuff to me to give to him. Whew!

Ha Ha! You got nothin' compared to the oral gymnastics I had to use to explain to DD1 & DD2 about US Santa Claus vs. NL SinterKlaas!!

This Mommy stuff is harder than it looks sometimes.

And sometimes it looks REALLY hard!
