Well, I'm not sure about the splatter, but I'm guessing the furniture is moved to facilitate some painting. Perhaps the mysterious holes are now being repaired?

Ok, so I could've easily guessed the kitchen, but the other...not so much. LOL
I had an inkling that perhaps those dents were made by an angry child (as I have very similar holes in a few doors here. UGH!)
